ㅇ Summary of applying cash payment discounts in a business
ㅇ If the business is a credit card merchant:
- Credit card payment cannot be refused (Article 19, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Consumer Finance Business);
- There may be illegality if there is a difference between the cash payment price and the credit card payment price because merchants cannot impose merchant fees on consumers (credit card members) (Article 19, Paragraph 4 of the Act on the Consumer Finance Business).
ㅇ However, if the business is not a credit card merchant, payment can be refused as there is no obligation for the business to become a credit card merchant.
